What can I do?
Thank you for visiting this website and looking into the possibilities of how you can help young people grow native trees that will help to revitalize local ecosystems! Your efforts will help restore diversity to the environment and aid in the climate crisis battle.
Check In |
|
Regularly visit the Seeds to Saplings website and Instagram (@seeds2saplings) for current information.
Participate |
|
Use the Seeds to Saplings guide from this website to help you, your family, friends, or neighbours to grow a native tree sapling.
Encourage & Connect |
|
Encourage your child's school to participate in growing saplings from seeds. Grades 3 to 8 are most suited. Provide their teacher with our website address (https://www.seedstosaplings.ca/), Instagram (@seeds2saplings) and email (S2Scanada@seedstosaplings.ca).
Volunteer |
|
Volunteer to be a liaison and set up a link between a local school and S2S. Facilitate support and communication during the tree growing project.
Advocate |
|
Advocate for local ecosystems by contacting your councillor at City Hall and your provincial and federal representatives. Express your concerns about the current state of our ravines. Call on your representatives to promote tree planting. Emails are good; phone calls and snail mail are even better at having an impact. Many people find it difficult to raise their voice the first time . . . after that it's much easier. Feel good about standing up for something that you believe in.
Discuss |

Talk to family, friends and neighbours about Ontario’s ecosystems. Build a culture that cares.

Use media to express your interest in ecosystems and native trees. Write a letter or opinion piece for a newspaper. Join relevant social media groups. Start a conversation.
